❖ Chihuahua is a majestic state in every sense of the word. It boasts one of the most astonishing landscapes in Mexico in the depths of the Barrancas del Cobre (the Copper Canyon), which you can travel through on the Chepe Express train.
It is the largest state in Mexico. There are various versions of the origin of the state’s name, the most widely accepted being that it comes from the Náhuatl word xicahua, which means “Dry or sandy thing”. It borders the United States to the north; Coahuila to the east; Durango and Sinaloa to the south; and Sonora to the west.
